Capacity & Marquee
How many people can the cabin hold?
The cabin can hold approximately 40 seated at tables, or 60 standing / seated in rows. The wider site works well for up to 150 guests when using a marquee.
Can I choose the type of marquee?
Yes. The site does not include a marquee, but there is a list of approved suppliers who know the site well.
Can we get married on site?
Yes. There is a ceremony area on the grass overlooking the beach. You would just need to arrange a celebrant.
Facilities
What facilities are inside the cabin?
The cabin is a traditional log cabin often used for bridal preparation and relaxation. It has one main room with sea views, picnic tables, chairs, a fireplace with logs, and a small gas cooker kitchen (no electricity).
What extras are provided?
We provide hand soap, toilet roll, logs for the fireplace and candles for the chandelier.
Is there drinking water on site?
Yes. There is cold water inside the cabin and an outside tap. Caterers may wish to bring their own hosepipe.
Is there power available?
The site has no installed power but does have a generator hook-up point. Please see suggested suppliers for generator hire.
Is there a fridge inside?
There is a small milk fridge which can be used when connected to a generator. Many suppliers bring their own refrigeration.
Booking & Payments
What deposit do I pay to book?
We charge a 20% reservation fee, with the balance payable 1 month before your event.
How long do I have to clean up after my event?
For a weekend booking, you would have until Monday.
What time would my event finish?
The end time is in line with pubs — music winds down after midnight, with taxis arranged by 1am.
Catering & Bar
Is there catering facilities?
No. Caterers set up their own tent or mobile kitchens next to your marquee.
Can we choose our own caterers?
Yes. As a private hire site you are free to choose your preferred caterers.
Can we have a paid bar?
Selling alcohol requires a supplier with the relevant alcohol sales licence from East Lothian Council. Recommended suppliers can arrange this.
Do you have staff to serve drinks?
No. As a private hire site we provide check-in and check-out support, but catering teams manage service.
What is your policy on glassware?
Glass is fine on tables and for champagne flutes. We encourage reusable options behind the bar to reduce breakages.
Logistics & Services
What are the glamping options?
Couples often use suppliers such as Bell Tent Scotland or Present Tents for wedding bell tents. Hotels are also available nearby.
Do you offer waste disposal?
No. Waste is typically managed by your suppliers and removed after the event.
Do you recommend chair hire for an aisle?
Yes. We recommend Andrew Wilson Catering Hire or your marquee supplier.
What is the best taxi service?
We recommend Torrance Taxis or A2B Taxis.
Rules & Policies
Can we have hay or straw bales for seating?
No. Due to fire risk and mess, bales are not permitted.
Can we have fireworks?
No. Fireworks are not permitted due to health & safety concerns.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but owners must clean up after them.
